FlashAlert Messenger allows you to view local news, and receive push notifications of emergency alerts (and in some cases, sports scores) from FlashAlert Newswire. You may use it as a stand-alone news viewer or link it to your FlashAlert Messenger account for emergency alert push notifications from the schools, police agencies or organizations you have subscribed to. If you have trouble attaching the app to your account, it may be because push notification is turned off on your phone. For more details, go to www.flashalertnewswire.net/attachbutton.html

Pros and cons of FlashAlert Messenger app for iPhone and iPad

FlashAlert Messenger app good for

Use the trouble shooting tool when trying to link and get messages. Solved my linking problem. Back up to 5 stars.
If the "attach my account" button does not work the first time, uninstall the app and reinstall it. It did not work at first, but after reinstalling it worked great! If you are creating an account, I suggest doing it on a PC or any computer, but do not use an iPad, iPhone, or any tablet because it may crash. Works fine on webpage, too.
Developers website says that they found a bad setting and things are working now. Works for me!
Great App. I just saw that buses are on snow routes tomorrow.
We have nearly 3" of snow tonight so I was expecting to see something from my app. I received a push notification showing the info and there was a badge on the app saying I had 1 alert to view. Seems to be working fine for me. I read a lot of negative reviews and was skeptical to bother downloading it. I hope it helps to know I have an iphone 6 with ios10. Good luck!
I get notifications. It lists other local info. Thats pretty much it. I did all of my account setup on the web site, so I dont know if any of that works from within the app. It sounds like that part doesnt work as well, so I just avoided it. Honestly, subscribing to feeds is pretty clunky on the web site, but desktop web browsers are more accommodating of clunkiness. This app causes the "will slow down your phone" warning, meaning it is only 32-bit. It hasnt been updated in four years. Im generally of the if it isnt broken, dont fix it school, but it might be time for the developer to recompile. One of these years, Apple is going to eliminate 32-bit support from iOS. It might be a good idea to check where the source code is.

Some bad moments

Clunky. Buggy. Difficult to navigate. I tried to add a new alert, and the selection menus were not working at all. I had to delete the app, it is unusable.
Installed 3x and it wouldnt link to my account. Done trying.
I have been trying for weeks to get signed up. Every time I fill out the information, it crashes before I can submit my info. I have deleted the app and re downloaded it, I have turned my iPad off and back on again. I dont know what to do. I used it last year to get school closure info for my kiddos, and I loved it, very convenient when I can get it to work.
When I try to make an account, it crashes my phone and its IMPOSSIBLE save your self from the hassle of signing up it takes FOREVER I would give it 0 stars if I could
I could do anything. Unstable, crashes in under thirty seconds. Tried three times. Uninstalled.
App hasnt been updated in over 4 years, and it looks like it. Also gives an error on iPhone 7, "FlashAlert may slow down your iPhone. The developer of this app needs to update it to improve its compatibility."
